Support

The Baldwinsville Community Band was founded in 1980 and is a registered 501 (c) 3 tax exempt group; donations are tax deductible .  Funds for the band are voluntary and no government funds are received.

For many years, the band members paid $10 year dues, but this was waived during Covid.

Currently we are asking for voluntary dues of $20.

To support the band, you can send a check made payable to "Baldwinsville Community Band" and send it to

Claire Genett, BCB treasurer, 116 Oswego Street Apt 5, Baldwinsville, NY 13027

What donations support:

Music purchases  While the band has a library of over 500 selections, new music is always wanted and needed to keep the interest of our audiences and players, as well as to replace old arrangements.  A score and parts for bands  cost anywhere from $50 to $200.  If you would like to donate a specific piece of music, please contact Phill Sterling at psterling@me.com or 315 638-4956.

We often honor the memory of former members, family and friends by purchasing music in their name, and all music parts are stamped with a dedication to that person.

Insurance The band carries insurance to cover the members and our equipment and a certificate of insurance is often needed to perform or rehearse at sites.  At present our policy costs $220 a year.

Equipment  The band owns a sound system and percussion equipment.  Our library includes 12 4-drawer files and is stored in the basement of the Baldwinsville Public Library. Several of the files need to be replaced due to age and wear.
